Learn About Lucid Dreaming

By David Wolf

When a person is sleeping, but is aware that he or she is dreaming, the process can be referred to as lucid dreaming. At some point during the dream, the person becomes aware that what is happening is impossible. For instance, it is obvious that humans cannot fly because they don't have wings. When you are dreaming, you will be able to decide whether or not it is a regular dream or a lucid one.

Lucid dreaming can be compared to figuring out that you are dreaming because you wake up inside of the dream. Many people are doubtful of a lucid dream. They do not think that it is possible to conscious or aware while a dream is going on. Lucid dreaming is very controversial. It is often looked on with the same regard as crystal reading and other similar occurrences.

However, science may have a lot to do with lucid dreaming and studies have shown that some people moved their eyelids to indicate to researchers when they were having a lucid dream . Activity of the brain that was detected and measured during REM sleep also convinced researchers that brain activity confirmed the participants were in this dream state.

While there may be as many believers as skeptics when it comes to this concept, the idea that human beings can control their dreams is very difficult to believe. While some scientists may be open to the possibility of lucid dreams being true, most scientists are of the opinion that it is impossible. Whatever a person may think of lucid dreaming, there are special clubs that a person can join to experience the beauty of lucid dreaming first-hand, as well as devices and machines that can help individuals to start lucid dreaming.

Lucid dreaming use to only be mentioned when talking about psychical research. These dreams were thought to be related to the paranormal since they could not be easily understood. In modern times, lucid dreaming is more of fad. More and more people are starting to believe in it and try it out. There are many believers out there that want to encourage other to try it before dismissing it completely.
