The constantan component is an alloy made from copper and nickel. Due to this, it is quite a good conductor of electricity and heat. On the other hand, its iron leg should not be exposed to too much heat because it oxidizes fast which may cause rusting. This can hinder its function because of the limited maximum heat that it can tolerate.

However, this can also be advantageous to use for different reasons. It is not that expensive as compared to the others because of its composition. It can also measure pretty high temperatures as long as it does not reach the limit for its oxidation.

For the successful applications of thermal systems, getting the most suitable thermocouple is essential. You must ensure that you get the right one for it. You must consider some factors carefully and do your research so you can weigh your options about this matter properly.

He should weigh the requirements of the applications he will use it in for it to be successful. The range of the temperatures he will measure, from the minimum to the maximum, should also be taken into consideration. Aside from those, the length of the whole measuring process as well as the lifespan of this specific device should also be considered carefully.
